Horses History: Pete was the first resident here at Habitat for Horses, spent a year in a stall healing from a fight with a barbed wire fence and a year wandering around the ICU pasture trying to understand those other four-legged creatures. He’s just a little bit spoiled because, in my eyes, he can do no wrong. Most volunteers disagree, which is why on any given afternoon you can hear complaints about his adventurous activities. “Pete’s standing in the water trough!” “Pete’s on top of the round bale!”

The most perfect horse at the ranch, Pete is the boss's son and the "King of All He Sees," especially when there is a cookie involved. He's pure QH, without any morals, manners or basic redeeming qualities, falls in love with a different mare several times a day. While he's been under saddle, he doesn't go anywhere because, "I don't have to do anything."
